At Moran Outdoor School....
- You will find a small scale
program operating on a personal level, where your
group can come together as a community.
- Students have the opportunity to
experience diverse ecosystems, from diverse old
growth to recently disturbed Alder groves
, from
wetlands to waterfalls to kayaking on a lake,
from the bottom of a watershed, to the top of
Mount Constitution.
- Students learn fundamental
ecological concepts that they can take with them
wherever they go.
- Experiences like "solo"
walks, "magic spots," and sleeping
under the stars give students the opportunity to
make connections with the natural world.
Moran Outdoor School takes place at Camp Moran E.L.C.,
amidst the beauty of Moran State Park, on serene Orcas
Isl and, in
the northwest corner of Washington State. It provides
environmental education programs for elementary and
secondary age students. Program lengths range from 2
hours to five days and occur in the spring and fall.
