The spirit of country golf on Orcas Island has been pleasing golfers from all over the world. Located in the beautiful and majestic San Juan Islands, Orcas Island is the most popular island in the chain. This course is one of the best kept secrets in the Pacific Northwest. The course is P.G.A. rated at par 71 with yardage of 5,803 yards over 18 holes. Course rating: 67.1 / 72.8 Slope: 114/125.
This is a regulation 9 hole course with alternate tees on the back nine holes. These alternate tee locations give a great perspective to the final nine holes. This course is very reminiscent of the old Scottish country clubs. Designed to challenge all golfers with gentle rolling hills and natural water hazards, this course is not easy. The scenery is breathtaking and very well preserved. Orcas Island is still in a pristine state and conservation of the island is its key value. Because of this, the natural elements of the island have been maintained and you'll often see wildlife such as deer and blue herons on the course.
Designed in 1960 this course has matured very well. The greens are Astoria Bent and built to USGA specifications.
The course is located 1 mile south of the main village on Orcas, called Eastsound. Tee times are recommended after May 1.
