Camp Moran Environmental Learning Center, situated in Moran State Park, offers a haven and resting place for large or small groups who wish to enjoy the beauty of the natural world on Orcas Island. A rustic camp on the shores of Cascade Lake, Camp Moran promises solitude and a unique change of pace as a setting for reunions, workshops, and retreats or as the home base for outdoor adventures.

The Environmental Learning Center

The center will furnish beds, mattresses, tables, chairs, kitchen equipment, dishes, utensils, and a dishwasher. Users are responsible for food, towels, linen, blankets, first aid supplies, and firewood. A map of the site is available.

Reservations

Charges for the main camp are per person, while the Vacation House is a set fee. Special off-season rates are available. Reservations for the environmental learning center are made at 360-902-8600 (TDD: 360-664-3133). Further questions about the center may be addressed to the ELC Ranger at 360-376-6173.

Moran Outdoor School

Camp Moran ELC also runs Moran Outdoor School: a fully featured residential environmental education program with openings available for school and youth groups in the spring and fall. Check out OrcasIsle.com's Moran Outdoor School Site for more information.

Would you like to provide your participants kayaking on Cascade Lake*, a guided hike through the park, stories around the campfire, an overnight camp out in tents, a group building experience, or other environmental education options? Moran Outdoor School's naturalists are local islanders with locafallsgrp.jpg (9901 bytes)l knowledge. Moran Outdoor School staff may be available to provide programming for your group while you stay at the ELC; contact a program director at Camp Moran's office to explore options: (360) 376-6173 x2.

*Guided kayak trips are available fall through spring only; try local tour companies during the summer months.
