A letter from a participating teacher: September 23, 1999 Dear Camp Moran Staff, Thank you, Thank you! Camp Moran is simply one of the best educational experiences available. The heart of the program is care and respect that permeates everything, in both your fields of expertise and in creating and sustaining community. The emphasis on listening, observing, reflecting, and taking personal responsibility for ones actions as we work and play together has had a profound impact on me as a teacher. You teach me how to be a better teacher just as you lead my students to be more aware of themselves and others and the environment. My students returned to classes this week better able to listen, to cooperate, and to care for one another. AND they are eating all of their lunches, too! (And I am concocting creative meals from the soon to rot produce in my refrigerator!) Your commitment to the symbiotic nature of living and loving in this world makes me want to cheer. (Please take a bow!) I feel so honored to be able to participate in your excellent program. Again, thanks for all your superb work, Sincerely, Anne Kiemle |
