Planning A Trip to Outdoor School

"Your program presents my students with a challenge to investigate their role in group tasks & to explore attitudes which predefined limits, 'I don’t know if I can climb all the way up Mt. Constitution,' 'I’ve never kayaked before...,' 'I’m afraid but I don’t want anyone to know I have never stayed overnight away from home.'  ...The staff showed us we all had skills and potentials which we never realized before. We could hike, backpack, set up camp, organize meals, and kayak. New experiences like these give us confidence and propel us to new understandings of ourselves."
-Greg Hart, Aiming High Program Teacher , Ferndale.

Our Outdoor Schools are conducted during spring (April-June) and fall (Sept.-Oct.). Reservations may be made by contacting the directors, and dates are made with a deposit of $650.00. We start booking each season ten months in advance. Costs are subject to change with state budget directives. Currently the change is about $35.25/person/night. Cost includes overnight lodging, showers, 3 meals and 2 snacks/day, program staff, and materials.

Complete information on getting ready for outdoor school is sent to registered schools.
